North Bay Joins Go Local

Go Local is a network of locally owned businesses, residents, non-profit organizations, and government agencies working together to build a thriving, local economy by supporting local, independently owned businesses and encouraging sustainable practices. North Bay Corporation is one of their newest members, and has added the slogan “Recycle Local” to their list of ways to “go local”.

Why Go Local? Locally owned businesses provide many jobs to Sonoma County residents, support our local non-profits and organization that serve our communities, and provide our county with character and personality. Supporting locally owned and run businesses is crucial to maintaining a thriving local economy. When you contribute money at a local business, the money stays in your community, helping keep Sonoma County the amazing place that we all love.

North Bay Corporation & Redwood Empire Disposal chose to join Go Local because we are a locally owned company that has been providing solid waste collection to Sonoma and Marin County since 1986. This company is owned by Jim Ratto, his wife and their 2 sons, all of whom live in Sonoma County. Contributing to the local economy is important to North Bay Corporation and we utilize as many local businesses as possible. Our truck and bin stickers are printed by local graphic companies, our newsletters are mailed though a local mailhouse, our recycle guides and other outreach materials are printed by a local printer and a Go Local member.

As a service provider of Sonoma County, North Bay Corporation is contributing to the welfare of the local community. We employ over 350 Sonoma County residents, filling positions ranging from drivers, recycling sorters, mechanics, dispatchers, customer service representatives and outreach staff.  By recycling locally, we are able to consolidate materials and ready them for the commodity market in a close proximity to where they were generated. Because cans, bottles and other recyclables don’t have to travel a long distance to materials recovery facility, we are able to lessen our impact on the environment.

Have you seen one of our new “recycle local” logos?
