January 2, 2008
Dear Valued Customer:

Redwood Empire Disposal recently purchased the Empire Waste Management solid waste collection contracts in Sonoma and Marin Counties. We will begin servicing your community effective January 2nd, 2008.

At Redwood Empire Disposal, we are committed to a high level of service that only a locally owned and operated company can offer. To assure a smooth transition, the collection drivers, routes and customer service contact information will remain the same.

Customer Service

Redwood Empire Disposal has a dedicated and experienced customer service staff available to assist you. You can call us at 800 243-0291 or use the same local number you have dialed in the past for refuse and recycling inquiries. Please explore this website further for answers to many frequently asked questions and for a convenient Online Payment option. You can also contact us to request an application for automatic payments so your refuse bill will be automatically charged to your debit or credit card each billing period. Please Note: If you are currently on an automatic payment plan with Waste Management you will need to re-establish this service with Redwood Empire Disposal.

Recycling Outreach and Education

Our team of Recycling Outreach Coordinators is available to provide recycling education services to businesses, schools and multifamily complexes, to provide site assessments, and to make recommendations for developing or expanding recycling programs. In addition, periodic newsletters will be mailed to customers to encourage participation in recycling and composting programs. Newsletters will provide important information about hazardous waste disposal, reuse and diversion opportunities and other general notices including holiday collection schedule changes, holiday tree collection options, etc. For more information and useful resources, explore this website further using the links above.

Split-Body Collection Vehicles

Some communities will be seeing new dual-compartment trucks on their residential routes. These trucks have a split body with a compartment for both recycling and solid waste so both material types can be collected in a single pass. This will reduce truck trips down neighborhood streets by one third. All collection vehicles operated by Redwood Empire Disposal are fueled by ultra-low sulfur diesel for reduced emissions and particulate matter.

Year in Advance Payment Discount

Residential customers can receive their December service for free if you pay for eleven months in advance by January 15th each year. Contact us after January 1, 2008 to take advantage of this convenient and money-saving offer.

Business Recycling

Redwood Empire Disposal offers free recycling to all commercial accounts and free site visits by experienced recycling outreach staff to help you identify recycling and other diversion opportunities to both minimize waste and your solid waste costs.

Debris Boxes and Roll-off Services

Redwood Empire Disposal offers competitively priced debris boxes and bins for your construction or cleanup projects. Call our debris box department at (707) 585-5222 for more information.

Make a commitment to Go Green

Waste reduction is more than just recycling bottles and cans. Make a commitment to reduce the use of disposable and single-use products and to "close the loop" by purchasing products made of recycled content. Learn more about local programs such as hazardous waste disposal and about other reuse and diversion programs by exploring this website further.

Collection Service

Redwood Empire Disposal offers various sizes of solid waste carts and your rate is based on the size of the cart you select. Customers can reduce costs by increasing recycling and reducing waste. Recycling and yard waste service is provided to you at no additional cost. For more information, explore this website further using the links above. Redwood Empire Disposal is pleased to be your locally owned and operated service provider. Keep your eye out for our upcoming newsletter with more information and specific details of services available in your community. For questions, visit our website at www.unicycler.com or call our helpful customer services representatives at 1-800-243-0291.
