Recyle Video!

North Bay Corporation takes waste reduction seriously and invites customers to Take the Pledge to change behavior by learning new habits that encourage waste reduction, conservation, reuse and recycling.

Select three or more of the Go Green actions listed below that you will commit to take this summer and get a cool magnet to remind you of your commitment to Go Green. Continue taking these actions (and more!) to make them habit and the reward will be a greener world. Please be sure to choose actions that are new to you. Need help with some of these ideas? Explore this site for ideas on how to implement some of these ideas into your green world.

Locate the Sonoma County Recycle Guide - Look for it in the ATT Yellow Pages behind the tab under Recycling (page 701). Take a look through it and notice page 2 and the section beginning on page14. Aso find it on the web at www.recyclenow.org. Let others know about these valuable resources.
Paper or Plastic? - Choose to reuse instead. Keep reuseable bags in your car and don’t give up! Soon you’ll remember to take those durable bags into the grocery store everytime.
Buy Recycled - Commit to making a recycled content purchase of an item (such as paper or other office supplies) that you ordinarily buy without recycled content. Be a label detective. Encourage your place of work to buy products with recycled-content as well.
Encourage an Artist - Provide your children with after-school projects making art from recycled materials. Try a Google search for “junk art” to get creative ideas for art from leftovers.
Clear out your Toxics - Take old paint, fluorescent bulbs, old automotve fluids or other toxics to the Household Toxics Facility at the Central Disposal Site. It is free to residents. Learn more on page 2 of the Sonoma County Recycle guide (see above) or visit www.recyclenow.org.
Compost Your Veggies - Start putting your vegetative food waste in the yard waste can (no meat, oil or dairy, please). Or start a home compost pile. Visit www.mastergardeners.org to find out how.
Ditch Disposables - At your next party or BBQ, rent the extra utensil and plates you will need or buy extras at a thrift store.
Take a Field Trip - Take quality items you no longer want to a thrift store or list them on web-based list serves like www.waccobb.net, www.craigslist.org and www.freecycle.org to help you find a new home for them. Take a look around. There may be items you might like yourself.
