Do not place any plastic bags in recycle or yard waste carts. Clean and dry plastic bags may be taken back to some local markets. Do not put recyclable items inside plastic bags before placing in recycle containers.

What do the numbers on the bottom of plastic containers mean ?
The Society of the Plastics Industry, Inc. (SPI) introduced a resin identification coding system in 1988. Most municipal recycling programs targeted packaging containers for recycling- the SPI coding system offered a means of identifying the resin content of bottles and containers commonly found in the residential waste stream. The resin code is not a recycle symbol. Recycling firms have varying standards for the plastics they accept. Pacific Coast Disposal accept only household containers for recycling.
