Free Large Item Collection Service
Novato Disposal now provides collection of bulky items for single-family residential customers in Novato up to 4 times a year at no additional cost. Additional items, or items containing Freon (such as a freezer), can be collected throughout the year for an additional fee.
This service includes the collection of household items that are too large to be placed in collection carts, such as some household appliances, furniture or oversized landscaping materials. Additionally, items that require special handling, such as household electronics such as stereos, televisions, computers, VCRs or automobile tires are also collected. This collection service is available up to four (4) times per year and limited to three (3) large items per collection.
Prohibited items include hazardous waste, liquid waste, and propane tanks. Auto parts or any item with an internal combustion engine such as lawnmowers or weed eaters must be completely drained of fluids, or they will not be collected.
All items must be placed neatly at the curb. Small items must be contained in bags or boxes, loose material will not be collected.
