A product is considered hazardous if it is labeled as corrosive, ignitable, toxic, poisonous, infectious, or if it will react or explode when mixed with other substances.
A product is considered electronic waste if it has circuitry, digital displays, or programmable features.
It is illegal to place hazardous or electronic waste in the trash.

Windsor Refuse and Recycling will collect electronics, for a fee, for recycling. Please
contact customer service to set up an appointment, and for more details.
Any Sonoma County transfer station will accept household electronics for recycling.
Goodwill will also accept electronics, working or not.

The Town of Windsor has a used motor oil and filter drop-off facility at the town
corporation yard, located at 8400 Windsor Rd. This facility is open 24 hours,
7 days a week. Make sure the oil is not mixed with any other fluids, and please
take the empty collection containers back with you. No more than 5 gallons of used
motor oil and 2 filters may be dropped off at one time. Drop-off for residents only.
There are also many locations in Sonoma County that will accept motor oil for recycling.

Windsor Refuse and Recycling is now offering curbside battery pick-up. Pick up a heavy-duty zip lock bag at our Standish Ave. office in Santa Rosa, the Town Corporation Yard, or Town Civic Center to place your used household batteries in. Our drivers will pick up Battery bags that are securely sealed and placed ON TOP of your residential curbside recycle cart on your regular collection day. Click here for other drop off locations
