Santa Rosa Recycling & Collection offers weekly garbage service to customers. Included in the fee for garbage service is a weekly curbside recycling program and weekly greenwaste service.
Santa Rosa Recycling & Collection utilizes an automated system for collection. Customers are provided with rolling carts that are easy to maneuver around the yard and to the curb. The hinged lid keeps out rain and animals. If your cart becomes damaged, it will be replaced by Santa Rosa Recycling & Collection.
The rolling carts work in conjunction with our automated trucks that grip, lift and empty your carts without the driver needing to leave the truck. This means fewer worker injuries and streamlined service. Please be sure to place your cart at the curb away from all obstructions to help our drivers work more efficiently.
Residents may choose from 32, 68, or 95-gallon rolling garbage carts. The carts are wheeled to the curb the night before your regular collection day and placed no more than two feet from the curb and at least three feet from your recycling and greenwaste carts. Please be sure the arrows on the lid are pointing towards the street. Garbage collection begins early in the morning, so it is important that your cart be at the curb the night before to assure your garbage is not missed.
If you have extra garbage, call Santa Rosa Recycling & Collection at least one-day before your regular collection day to schedule extra collection service. There is an added charge for extra garbage. When you notify us in advance that you have extra garbage, you may use 32-gallon plastic bags or a 32 gallon garbage can for extra garbage. Loose material will not be collected.
You will receive an additional charge if you have extra garbage or if the lid will not close on your cart.
